Description: Sometimes you lift up your eyes upon a piece of art that is so spectacular, so very special that you can do nothing but just stand in a silent stupor, dumbfounded with awe as your blown mind simply whispers...WOW!
Original double page splash artwork for All-New Collectors' Edition (Vol. 1 ) C-58 (DC, 1978) or better known as Superman vs Shazam treasury. This sensational DPS was drawn by the talented Rich Buckler (pencils) and Dick Giordano (inks) and features the two main heroes in an epic clash above the Grand Canyon. Superman uses his super sonic blast on Captain Marvel, who reels out of control in agony at the savage onslaught from the Man of Steel. The concept of DC's two apex champions going toe-to-toe in a no-holds-barred melee was so potently powerful and unforgettable that it was likewise explored nearly 20 years later by artist Alex Ross in his masterpiece, Kingdom Come (DC, 1996).
Since this is a treasury double page-splash, the piece is absolutely MASSIVE in size, measuring a WHOPPING 16" tall by 24.5" wide and offering of the the largest images of the Big Red Cheese ever published.
