Terrific battle-action page from the thrilling tale, "The Spell of the Serpent," as Namor, after bringing the Helmet of Power to Atlantis, departs with Lord Seth to the "trackless, timeless" ocean depths in order to find the Herb of Healing to help Tiger Shark return to his human form once again. Namor and Seth reach the dreaded Abyss of Doom and are immediately attacked by the deadly giant Lethe Beast. This fabulous four-panel battle page depicts the climatic stage of this mighty melee between Namor and the Lethe Beast, as Namor utters out his trademark battle cry "IMPERIUS REX!", as he delivers the final blow to the great sea creature. Triumphant, the Mighty Sub-Mariner swims off into the icy depths claiming, "I am as One...with the endless, all-embracing sea! The Combat is Ended!" Artwork which features Namor in such dynamic and action-packed combat images are rare, especially ones that include Namor yelling with his classic war-cry, "Imperius Rex!," which is, loosely translated from the Latin, "Empire King!"
