Description: When was the last time you saw a piece of original artwork that featured Yz, Johnny Thunder's magic Thunderbolt? Original artwork for All-Star Squadron #30 page 17 (DC, 1984) by Richard Howell (pencils) and Mike Machian (inks). From the story, "Day of the Black Dragon," this gorgeous half-splash features Johnny Thunder calling upon Yz ("Say You" = "Cei-U"), his pink anthropomorphic thunderbolt magic genie to aid him in his struggle against the terrorist group known as the Black Dragons. This beautiful page has nice insert panel of Wonder Woman dictating the tale, while calling Johnny Thunder the "Least intellectual member" of then famed Justice Society of America. This page features no less than three great images of Yz, the highlight one being the large half-splash, as the pink Djinn goes into full battle action to save the day leaving Johnny in the cruel hands of the Black Dragons since Yz's "Badhnisian nature" is to take "everything literally." Page includes a nice image of the leader of the Black Dragons. Again, original artwork pages with Yz are very rare, seldom seen and offered for sale on the open market.
